Figure 1 - Jupiter is a little low in contrast in this image. Hold your mouse cursor over the image to see a comparison between the original uncorrected image and the corrected one.

The image of Jupiter seen in Figure 1 can be improved with some increase in contrast.

There are several ways to increase the contrast in Photoshop:

Here we will use the Levels command in Photoshop.

In Figure 3 we can see the results of using Photoshop's Levels command to increase the contrast. The Levels command is better than the Brightness and Contrast command because it lets you see the image histogram while making the adjustments.
