The colors in an image can be selectively adjusted with Photoshop's Selective Color command.

We will adjust the red colors in the image of Jupiter seen in Figure 1.

• Go to Image > Adjustments > Selective Color.

• Select Reds under the Colors pull-down menu (Figure 2, Number 1).

• Remember that red is comprised of magenta and yellow.

• Drag the Magenta slider to the right (Figure 2, Number 2).

• Drag the Yellow slider to the right (Figure 2, Number 3).

• We can also adjust the brightness of the red colors in the image. To increase the contrast of the red colors, we will darken them.

• Drag the Black slider to the right (Figure 2, Number 4).

In Figure 3 we can see the results of using Photoshop's Selective Color command to enhance the red colors in the image of Jupiter.
