This complex of emission nebulae, reflection nebulae and dark nebulae is located just south of M24, the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud.

IC 1284 is the red emission nebula at left center. NGC 6589 and NGC 6590 are the two blue reflection nebulae below center.

This complex is believed to be located at a distance of 5,900 light-years.
