NGC 1514 is a blue planetary nebula in Taurus.

Its popular name is the Crystal Ball Nebula.

NGC 1514 shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 10.9 and is 2.2 arcminutes in apparent size. It is located 600 light-years away.

Although the nebula itself is a bit dim, the central star that illuminates the nebula shines at magnitude 9.4. There is some thought that the central star is actually a binary star.

NGC 1514 was discovered by William Herschel on November 13, 1790.
